Dr Perry Shaw is an Australian who serves as Global Consultant for Local Leaders International. He is the author of Transforming Theological Education: A Practical Handbook for Integrative Learning. Perry and his family served as missionaries in the Middle East from 1990-2019, including 12 years as Professor of Education and Academic Dean at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS). At ABTS Perry was closely involved in the development of their highly innovative curriculum, while also becoming increasingly involved in international consultancy for theological education. Perry and his wife Karen have two adult children, Christopher and Phoebe. For relaxation he likes to drink coffee, play squash, and watch movies – but not at the same time.

Perry has published widely, including authoring: Transforming Theological Education 2nd ed.
(Langham, 2022; translated to French and Spanish), The Acts of the Apostles (PTEE, 1999;
translated to Arabic), and The Art of Teaching (PTEE, 2004; translated to Arabic, Farsi,
Armenian, and Urdu). Perry has also co-edited with Havilah Dharamraj Challenging Tradition:
Innovation in Advanced Theological Education (Langham, 2018) and with César Lopes,
Joanna Soberano-Feliciano, and Bob Heaton Teaching across Cultures: A Global Christian
Perspective (Langham, 2021). More recently he supported Nola Norris in the writing of On
the Same Wavelength: Neurodiversity, Memory, Learning, and the Autism Spectrum (Amba,
2025). Perry has also published numerous chapters and articles in the areas of theological
education, higher education, curriculum, teaching methodology, intercultural leadership,
and research methodology.
